The Independence Town Council meets each month to discuss important community matters, make decisions on local projects, and hear from residents.     For the month of November, our council meeting will be on the Third Tuesday of the month since Veterans Day falls on our normally scheduled Tuesday.

      Join us in celebrating Small Business Saturday!
      This is a great opportunity to show support for the incredible local shops and restaurants that make Independence such a special place to live and work.

        Independence VA Christmas Parade and Tree lighting will begin at 5pm on Main Street and at the Historic 1908 Courthouse.
